Day at the Lake

Better late than never!! Easter weekend, we went out to the lake to meet up with some of my very good high school girlfriends.. and their babies!! It was so much fun seeing everyone!! We definitely have to do it again.. soon!! Here are some of the pics from that day!!

Updates!!!

First of all.. Taylor slept in her crib (in her own room) last night for the FIRST time!! She has been sleeping in the pack -and -play in our room.. right next to our bed since we came home from the hospital. James and I both agreed that when she turned 6 months.. we would move her into her own room! It was hard.. and scary.. but she was great!! We both went in there once to put her pacifier back in her mouth and that was it.. she slept like she normally does!! A sweet friend of mine, Sally, recommended getting this monitor where you can see the baby on a video screen.. well let me just tell you.. it is worth EVERY penny!! All we had to do was wake up, look at the monitor to SEE her.. and go back to sleep!! Best invention ever!! WE absolutely love it..

We went to the doctor yesterday for Taylor's 6 month shots..... shot part is not fun!! Anyway, we had an excellent appointment. So the rumor is that most babies grow out of all that sickness by six months.. and so far.. we think we may be part of that myth! Taylor's eyes have not drained for over 2 weeks now, and the doctor says that means the tear ducts have opened up on their own!! Praise the Lord!! We have not actually seen the eye doctor, but all seems well. Since Taylor is now sitting up so well, the doctor has asked us to take her off the prevacid( for the reflux) and see how she does. If there is no major spitting up involved.. we will be off the medicine for GOOD!!! YAY... we just hope that is the case. Ears seem to be fine also!
STATS: 18 lbs, 27 inches long
Taylor is in the 75th percentile for head and length... and in the 90th percentile for weight!! She is solid as a rock!!
Last but not least.. Taylor is getting her first tooth!! I have been telling everyone for about 2 wks now that I thought I felt a tooth making its way through in her mouth.. and they all thought I was crazy.. but the doctor confirmed it!! She said that the tooth could be here as early as a week!! Have a wonderful weekend!!

HALFWAY THERE!!! TAYLOR IS 6 MONTHS OLD... HAPPY 1/2 BIRTHDAY TAYLOR!!!

OKAY.. I KNOW I CONTINUE TO SAY THIS, BUT MY HOW TIME FLIES. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW FAST OUR BABY HAS GROWN. SHE HAS SO MUCH PERSONALITY NOW!! WE CAN'T WAIT TO WAKE UP EVERY MORNING TO SEE THAT BEAUTIFUL FACE!! SHE IS SITTING UP ALL BY HERSELF NOW, EATING LIKE A LITTLE CHAMP, TALKING.. BABBLING ALL THE TIME, LAUGHING OUT LOUD, AND VERY FOCUSED!! TAYLOR REALLY KNOWS HER NAME WELL. YOU CAN CALL HER FROM ACCROSS THE ROOM AND SHE WILL TURN TOWARD YOU. SHE HAS ONLY ROLLED OVER ONCE, BUT IS SCOOTING AROUND THE CARPET ON HER BACK AND BELLY.. NO NOT CRAWLING, BUT DEFINITELY SCOOTING. SHE AMAZES US EVERY DAY!! WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO HAVE THIS WONDERFUL CHILD IN OUR LIVES!! HAPPY 1/2 BIRTHDAY TAYLOR! MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE YOU VERY MUCH.

We had a wonderful Easter holiday. The weather was so pretty all weekend long! Taylor had so much fun playing with her cousin Drew. We went home to Columbus and spent the weekend with our family. Taylor and I went out to the lake on Saturday to the annual Easter Egg Hunt. We met up with many of my high school girlfriends and their babies(Jenny Holloway, Tori Edmiston, Angie Dees, Shelby Shields, Carmon Murphy, and Heather Burchfield). It was so much fun. The kids had so much fun.. and of course Mrs. Donna had snacks for everyone.. always thinking ahead!!It was wierd to see how all of our families have grown!! The slideshow above is our Easter pics. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday as well.

Okay, so I am a little late on Spring Break pics!! These are just a few snapshots over the week. We went home this past weekend, and Taylor had her first baby shower and her first wedding to attend.. well, just the reception! She was great.. and had a good time. She is such a little flirt.. she grins at the guys ALL the time!! ( she even smiles when our newsman comes on tv.. so weird!!). We had a wonderful week! Taylor and I shopped and ran errands every day. The weather was beautiful and we spent a good bit of the week outside!! Our trip home was great!! We had a lot of fun and look forward to the Easter holiday!!!

This past weekend, we went home for a baby shower and a wedding reception. Drew and Holli are expecting baby girl #2..... Lexi Ryan McBrayer!!! Yay. We can't wait for her to get here. She is due April 26th. This was Taylor's first baby shower!! She did a great job and had lots of little friends to play with ...Hunter Smith and Sam Edwards.. precious little boys!! Holli got lots of good stuff, that Madyson opened.. of course!! What a great big sister!!

5. try and get everything done during the week so that my hubby can play golf on saturdays and sundays without me asking him to do stuff.. (because he is so obsessive about golf.. but he is good at it so I can't complain) and also so that i can spend my whole weekend playing and relaxing with my baby girl!!

1. try and smile at my students every morning so that they start the day off right
2. take clothes, old stuff, and anything we don't want to the salvation army for others in need
3. try and take people supper when they have a lot on their shoulders, death in the family, or a new baby!!
4. try and remember people's birthday so that someone wishes them the best that day!!
5. always tell people in retail to have a good day because I have been there and done that. hope to not ever do it again:)

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY !!!!

LOOK AT ME.........

Taylor has finally outgrown the sling in the bathtub!! She has really been too big for it for a while now, but we were scared to sit her up in the tub before she could hold herself up. Well, being the headstrong child that she is, she is sitting up pretty well. We caught her on camera last night while taking her bath. Thank goodness she has not learned how to splash the water yet.. hopefully she will hold out on that for a while!! (not likely)She likes to be loud and I just know it will be a huge mess!! We went back to the doctor yesterday for a follow up on Taylor's ears. The eardrum seems to have healed. Taylor weighed 16 lbs and 14 oz. Doctor said she is in the 75th percentile for weight!! We go back at the end of the month for her 6 month shots, and they will measure everything else then. She is doing really well. Everyday she seems to find her laugh a little more and thinks it's fun to be even louder than she already is!! This age is so much fun!!! We just love watching our baby grow!

YAY!!!!

YAY for two reasons.... 1. Today is Friday and we have a whole week off next week for Spring Break and 2. Taylor is doing so well sitting up by herself!! We clap a lot for her and she thinks that is funny!! She still topples over, but for the most part.. she will sit there for a little bit!!

Also, welcome Andrew and Linda.. and Baby Drew ..to the blogging world!! We are so glad you are going to be posting pics of baby Drew!! For those of you who don't know.. they are Taylor's Godparents, aunt, uncle, and cousin!! (James' brother). Happy Friday to all of you!!!

A DAY WITH TAYLOR!!!!!

Taylor is growing so fast and has such a personality lately!! I know I keep mentioning "how fast" she is growing.. but it really flies by. She is doing so much now..... very alert, very talkative, very happy, very playful, very wiggly, and very LOUD!! She has never felt as good as she does now. I guess she was so sick with the flu and had no energy that she is bursting out with it now.. whatever the reason, we are so full of life around our house... never a dull moment!! The pics above are just random pics, but they sure map out " A Day with Taylor". We are really looking forward to Friday.. as it starts my spring break.. and I will get to spend the whole week with Taylor bug!!

Almost There....

Taylor has learned to sit up all by herself!! She can't pull herself all the way up on her own, but if we place her on the floor, she can sit up for a little bit!! She tumbles over sideways or frontwards, but she has fun doing it. Taylor is not really interested in rolling over.. she loves to play on the floor and grab her feet and roll to the side.. but no interest in rolling over yet!! I guess she will be sitting up before she ever attempts to roll over. She is so funny these days.. she really enjoys watching Kane( our dog) run around the house and bark at stuff. She is amazed at how he plays and runs. I have a feeling they will be best friends!! Taylor is also talking and laughing so much these days! She loves for you to bounce her on your hip or throw her in the air.. she has the cutest laugh when we do that!! These pics were taken at our friends Micah and Kayla's "old" house last night. We went over there to help them move the last bit of furniture out. Taylor had fun and all the commotion wore her butt out!! Have a wonderful weekend!!
