BACK TO SCHOOL WE GO....

Taylor was finally able to go back to school today!! She is ALL better and seemed to have a WONDERFUL day!! She has her days and nights mixed up from being sick.... so she had a terrible couple of nights (including last night). Anyway, I was worried that she would be fussy at school today because she hadn't gotten much sleep.. or at least I know I didn't... BUT she was terrific.. and she slept 4 hours straight today during nap!! Lucky her.. hope she sleeps better tonight!! We had just gotten her into a good routine at home.. and she gets sick and it messes the WHOLE thing up!! It's amazing how much children NEED that routine to have a good day!! ... or at least that is the pattern we see!! Here are some pics of Taylor playing in her jumperoo this afternoon! She loves this thing... her daddy just put it together for her!! Thanks to Shelby and Bella for the awesome toy!! !! Taylor loves it!!

Taylor Leigh is 5 Months Old !!!!!!!

It is so hard to believe our baby is already 5 months old!!! It seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital.. so anxious for her to get here!! My how time flies.. and it really flies with a child!! We are so blessed to have her in our lives.. we just can't thank God enough for such a special daughter!! We have definitely had our fair share of scares, restless nights, and worrisome fears.. but all in all.. she is a healthy little girl!! And, we thank God for that EVERYDAY!!We went back to the doctor today.. Taylor has a busted ear drum. She got an influenza ear infection.. that burst. Nothing major.. just drops to heal it!! She was probably getting better with the flu last Thursday after we headed to the hospital and got the fluids. The fever that we had seen Friday - Sunday was strictly ear related!! (of course we had no idea!!) So, she is better, still has a bad cough, but better!! Doctor says she is NOT contagious anymore and can return to school. We were so thrilled to hear that.. and Taylor played like crazy today with Cici. It feels so good to see her act her normal self again!! We love our baby girl and couldn't be crazier about her!! I know we have many more months to come.. but we are just enjoying her NOW!!! WE LOVE YOU TAYLOR!!!

SPECIAL THANKS....

This is Taylor's first attemp at eating in the high chair... she really seemed to like it.. she thought she was a BIG GIRL!!
Daddy taking care of his sick baby!!

Okay.. so I guess you have noticed the "new" header on the blog page. My sweet longtime friend.. Jenny Holloway.. created that for me!! She also cleaned up my page and made everything flow!! I want to specially thank her for taking time out of her busy schedule to do that for me!! It is precious.. and we LOVE it!! Also, I want to thank my sweet friends, Dawn and Cindy, for dinner last week. With all this sickness around here.. the last thing I could think about was cooking dinner. They were kind enough to bring us supper last Thursday.. and it was delicious!! Last, but not least... Mrs. Cindy (James' mom) came down today to help out with Taylor... yes, she is STILL sick. She seems to be doing a little better.. but she ran fever and had a terrible night again last night. She played a little yesterday and we though that just maybe she was starting to be on the other side of the flu.. the getting well side.. but we have yet to see some Major improvements!! Mrs. Cindy is going to keep her tomorrow (and maybe Tues.) so that I can at least work a day or two this week. Taylor will probably not be well enough to go back to daycare any this week... so Mommy will be home with her the rest of the days!! Thanks Cici for all your help!!

UPDATE......

It has been like a circus around here. Yesterday, Taylor was doing pretty much the same.. running fever, but in the 102's. She has not felt good since Monday, but yesterday she really felt bad!! Her temp rose to 103.5 and we just couldn't get it down. We tried all the tricks the doctors and hospitals told us to do, but nothing seemed to work. So, here we go to the emeregncy room. We knew there was not much they could do to treat the flu since Taylor is so young, but we were worried about her temperature rising!! They started and IV..(took 3 times to get it in there.. in her foot) and gave her a drip. It took 4 hours for her temp to go from 103.5 to 100. They were really surprised that it took so long to come down, but decided to let us go home since they stabilized her temp. You could really tell that she felt better as the temp went down. In the middle of all this, James starts to feel bad. He could barely hold his head up!! So, here I am with 2 sick people and ME!!! Of course, I am taking care of both.. but his stubborn self went in to work today!! (late, but he went) He was running fever and throwing up last night.. and he thinks he needs to work! That's a man for you!! So, back to Taylor.. she is doing better today!! Had to follow up with the pediatrition this morning. She said Taylor looks fine.. but that she is just going to have flu symptoms for several more days!! But, NO FEVER!! Her fever was down.. and hopefully it will stay down. I can handle the rest.. just a little tender loving care!! But, I can't handle fever!! Let's just all hope that I don't get the FLU because then we are all in trouble... the whole house will fall apart if MOMMY gets sick!!

Prayer Request!!!

Okay.. I have a few prayer requests, so please bare with me.

Taylor started running a fever yesterday at school, so I picked her up and took her to the doctor. At school, she was only running in the low 100's. By the time we got to the doctor, she was already up to 102.1. She has this awful cough that we have been trying to get rid of for about two weeks, and none of the medicine was working. The flu is going around really bad in south MS ( and everywhere else I'm sure). A few kids at Taylor's daycare and one of the teachers caught it. Needless to say, we went ahead and got her swabbed for the flu at the doctor yesterday. The test came back positive. SHE HAS THE FLU!!! With Taylor being only 5 months old.. they can't give her any prescription meds for it... just tylenol and motrin. It has to run its course. She slept ALL day yesterday.. and that is not like Taylor. She woke up a few times and just whimpered a little. It is so sad to see her so drained. We have been rotating between the motrin and tylenol every 4 hours to keep her fever down. Around 11:30 last night, we all woke up and Taylor felt like she was on fire. We checked her temp ( for about the 20th time that day.. I check every hour to see if it is going up or down) and she was running 104.7. That is pretty high for a baby!! We called the hospital and they said there was no magical treatment they had to get it down.. and told us to dab her with a warm rag over and over to get it down. We finally got it down to about 103. VERY SCARY. She is running around 101 and 102 today so that is much better!! Needless to say.. please say a little prayer that she will get well soon. I hate to see her feel so bad. We also have to give her breathing treatments 4 times a day because the congestion in her lungs is so bad!! She really doesn't like them. The company tries to make the breathing machine not so scary.. so it's a little penguin that fits into an igloo for a case. If I were a child, I wouldn't be scared of it!!

On another note...
A few weeks back, we had to see an ophthamologist because our pediatrition was concerned about Taylor's eyes watering and matting up so much. We have tried different eye medicines to help clear the mucus, but nothing seemed to work. The eye doctor told us that Taylor has nasolacrimal duct obstruction.... big word for such a small thing. That means that a membrane in the nose failed to open up before she was born. The tears do not drain properly from her nose and they come out of her eyes, which causes them to matt up and have mucus. Long story short, the ophthamologist thinks that she needs surgery to open up the passage way. It is a very simple procedure where they would just go in and pop it open, with no cutting at all.... the only thing is they want to put her to sleep to do it and we aren't ready for that!! We have talked to a couple of family friends who are doctors and they all seem to think that we should wait. There is a chance that it could open up on its on when Taylor gets a little bigger and starts to crawl and move around more. We are going to get a second opinion no matter what...but please pray that this will all work itself out and open up on its own. I know every mom out there understands not wanting to put their child to SLEEP under anesthesia. I know that God is taking care of all of us.. and he will make sure that little Taylor is okay!!
HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't get enough of this little angel in her cute little slippers. Taylor HATES to have socks on.. so she just tries and tries to kick them off. Well, most of the time she succeeds... so we tried some slippers to keep her little toes warm!! It worked, but only for about 20 minutes..she already had them off while watching cartoons!!

Taylor is testing out our new couches.. yay!! they finally arrived!! check out those pj pants.. wild!!
really interested in the tv... she loves the noggin channel

had to get a close up of the cute little slippers.....

Mommy Thoughts.....

OK. Call me crazy, but I got a wake-up call today!! When I picked Taylor up from school today, she had this little list... A VALENTINE LIST!!! I almost cried!! I know it sounds crazy, but she has little friends at school.. and they are giving out valentines. This will be her first Valentine's Day.. we will celebrate with her at home.. but she will also celebrate at school!! I know.. call me crazy, but as a new mommy.. EVERYTHING is a big deal. It brought tears (joyful tears) to my eyes to see her little name on that list!!

Being a mommy is WONDERFUL.. but I just don't want her to grow up too fast..

playing with mommy and daddy!! see the logo on her shirt: IT"S THE TRUTH!!
